In this interpretation of Wilson's Russian policy, the author challengesthe belief that Wilson's reaction to the 1917 October Revolution wasexclusively ideological. He suggests that his policy was determined both byhis ideological anti-Bolshevism and pragmatic demands for alliance cohesion.
