Johannes Ciconia is well known as a composer, but his theoretical workshave been available only in manuscript form. This is an edition of both ofCiconia's theoretical works: the "Nova musica", with its attendant "De tribusgeneribus melorum", and the shorter "De proportionibus", itself a revision ofthe third book of the "Nova musica".
