Ethnicization and Identity Construction in Malaysia(Routledge Malaysian Studies Series) H 256 p. 12
内容
The recognition, especially by the former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir, that the different ethnic groups in Malaysia are very different indeed, and the consequent decision to create structures and procedures in politics and society which are built around the different ethnic groups, have, this book argues, deepened ethnic consciousness and ethnic differences still further. The book examines how over time ethnic consciousness in Malaysia has developed. It discusses government policies, explores their impact in politics, society and the economy, and concludes by considering how the "ethnic issue" in Malaysia is likely to develop.
