Combines elementary methods with analytic methods of modular functions tostudy the representation of integers as sums of squares. This work explainshow to compute the number of representations of an integer n as the sum of ssquares for any s and n. It is also gives proof of Szemeredi's theorem, animportant theorem in modern number theory.
