Adulthood connotes the end of childhood, the resolution to the "storm andstress" period of adolescence. Going beyond the overwhelmingly psychologicalliterature, this book draws on original qualitative research and theories ofsocial recognition and thus presents a first step towards filling a gap inour understanding of the meaning of adulthood.
