Dairen Shinbun was a privately-owned Japanese-language newspaper that emerged in Dalian (Port Arthur, in Japanese: Dairen), the main city of the “Kwantung Leased Territory” occupied by Japan, and total of 5470 editions were published in the 15 years. This resource constitutes an invaluable record of the paper's path in its final years, and holds the key to unraveling the situation in inter-war Manchuria in a more three-dimensional, multilayered manner than is possible by referring solely to Manshu Nippo.
