Keidanren Shuho was published by Keidanren, the Japan Business Federation founded in August 1946 to help restore the postwar Japanese economy to autonomy and aid the nation's reentry into the international community, and was a bulletin for members that documented in detail policy advice given by staff to the government, and the diverse activities of its committees. This is a complete reproduction spanning from the bulletin's launch to its final issue.
These copies of the weekly show in minute detail the huge challenges—liberalizing trade, promoting free competition, pushing administrative and financial reforms, tackling environmental problems, and promoting private sector economic diplomacy—faced both at home and abroad by Japan's largest economic organization as it led the country from recovery to prosperity over a tumultuous half-century. Because the bulletin was as a rule only distributed to members, it was not used as research material, and differs in tone from the Keidanren Geppo monthly available to the general public.
