The Yubang Collection is a group of materials collected by the Central Japan-Korea Society and the Yubang Association, and is widely known for containing many valuable materials on Korea during the colonial period.
The internal documents left by the Korean Governor-General's Office bureaucrats and officials, including memos and reports on policy planning, provide a glimpse into the actual state of colonial administration policy. In particular, the documents left behind in the "Yubang Collection" are extremely important, given the extremely poor condition of surviving documents from the late war period.
Another significant feature of the collection is the abundance of materials related to repatriation and overseas assets from organizations established after the war and colonial liberation, such as the Korean Repatriation Association, the Korean Business Association, the Central Council of Postwar Measures for Overseas Business, the Dowa Association, the predecessor of the Central Japan-Korea Association, and the Central Japan-Korea Association.
This online edition of the Yuho Bunko contains mainly documentary materials from the Yuho Bunko. It will greatly contribute to future research in various fields such as colonial Korea, modern Japanese history, economic and agricultural history, imperial history research, history of Japan-DPRK/Japan-Korea relations, repatriation research, and research on "Zainichi Koreans" (Korean residents in Japan).
